Scandinavian Scotty
Ok, I know it's a Westie, but I thought I'd give into the punch-line- eeeeehh... ehhhhhh... ehhhhh? No. Ok. Let's move on. This illustration was a response to an article that the Guardian did on how Scotland relates to its Scandinavian neighbours. A bit literal, I know, but I am really really tired.

Back to improving my previous projects
I'm redoing some simple character designs, and I still don't know what my final(ish) title should be for my picture book. It's good that I have breathing space to do this while my fabric is printing. It also feels quite therapeutic to just be able to draw instead of having to write my dissertation. I wish that I could meet a real hare.

Tadpole
I don't know why, but I kinda love this little guy. I wish I could collect frogspawn again, without the tadpole genocide involved, I'll be more careful this time... I promise.
This actually raises some questions about the legality of collecting wildlife as a child- technically it's illegal, it's pretty twisted that parents don't care, now that I think about it. However, at the same time, the lessons that you learn about foetal development as a child do stick with you.

Tadspawn
Another pattern that I've been working on. I'm actually enjoying this quite a bit- it's a change! Change of media, change of mind-set- I'll probably go back to children's books soon after this project, though. I'll also try to post photographs of my kitchen-wear when it's done. Watch me go!

Buggies
So, in a few months time I will hopefully set up an Etsy shop based on this project. I just need more drawings to juxtapose, but for now I have a small collection of woodlice- these are to be printed on fabric which I will use to construct some aprons, tea towels and stationary. First I need more buggies!

First blog post in 2 months!
I'm not big on new years resolutions, but here's one to blog more, and work work more- full steam ahead! Anyway, I've been busy... very busy. Drawing things like woodlice and stuff. Oh what a fascinating life I do lead.
