Another spread

Not finished, a lot to do and play around with, but it's a work in progress :-)
Less that 2 weeks to steam through and get this book done! The stress is on. Two things are getting me by right now- green tea, and that amazing squishy thing that calls himself my boyfriend. I'm sorry, you didn't ask for that. Now I'm just wittering on because I'm about to have another early night, and another early early morning. The doors open at 6.30am tomorrow. I won't be there at that time, but I will be there somewhere between 7.30 and 8 because, hey! Who needs a life?

1st spread

I have finally got around to sorting my first spread out, and I THINK the book is nearly done! Whoopee! Now I just need to bother with Photoshop which takes AGES to save files.

Illustration Friday on a Wednesday

I should have really done a cat, it being National Cat Day and all, but hey ho. He's a creature. Anyways, back to work work!

Moar pages

I'm still fiddling around with the composition of pages and stuff. My God, I'm a bit behind!

Tweaking the front cover

So I've started looking into Blurb, but it's depressing me how much I've still got to do...

Friday 18 October 2013

Front cover done (ish)

Still need to fix a couple of blips. It's taken me long enough to get here, and I haven't even started my dissertation after my interviews. I feel myself slipping behind...
Anyhow, this is the front cover, still need to fix some things which'll take a while, but oh well. Met some awesome people this week for my interviews. :-) What a week... REALLY upset to be returning to Dundee. Oh well, 8 more months!

Illustration Friday on a Wednesday

This week's submission is a little bit late (as was the last)- finally got my boyfriend to take in sheets to scan! Woopee!

Saturday 5 October 2013

Then they found cat

I'm being a slow poke at this at the moment, I need to speed up. Speed up. Speed. Up. I'm just wobbling over my narrative at the moment. I'll get there some day (hopefully this week).

He sang

Still playing with page layouts. Made brushes out of some old  American/ German music we had around the house. As far as the text goes, I'm trying my best to edit it down, but still retain some substance. My flu appears to have mostly settled down now, although I am feeling quite drowsy and congested- that's what Lemsip's for! I bought a new flavour to try- blackcurrent! Tastes a lot like hot Ribena, but doesn't feel as effective as the hard stuff (lemon).

Old rooster

Still need to cleanup/ tweek a few things here and there, but for now I'll be done with it (probably until the morrow). I admit, I still have a way to go, but it's a start (a very time conscious start, at that).

Illustration Friday (on a Tuesday)

I realise that I'm a little late with this post- I'm only really doing it because I'm sick and can't get into the studio to work on my project, and I've been meaning to do Illustration Friday for ages and ages. So here we go- onomatopoeia- hope it's not too rubbish (I blame the flu).

Sunday 29 September 2013

I went to football yesterday.

Anyone that really knows me will know that I can't stand football, less the people on the sidelines hurling abuse at the opposing team. But I'm (note the present tense) there to take photographs. It started out as a way to make money (I don't mean to brag, but I am pretty handy with a lens), and turned into a mild, morbid fascination (I sound slightly creepy here, I know); see, I like muscles, and anatomy- god knows we all need endless practise drawing them. As with any other athlete's bodies, it's interesting the way they move and react, the way they get injured and injure (it can be pretty violent, as you're no doubt aware). There are so many ways in which toned muscle can move.

There are things that drift away, like our endless numbered days

So I'm not even half way through illustrating this book, and I have a terrible cold (not just normal colds, I get those a lot, but something that actually feels like it's developing into the flu); I think my hamster has it too,  we went to the vet the other day and got him some antibiotics. I submitted a vlog entry about it. I aim to vlog more in the future (assuming I have stuff to vlog about, and not just rant into the camera) My voice is all stuffy in this (been downing my annual pints of Lemsip). Don't worry, I used alcohol rub before handling him (I'm not that daft).

In other meaningless bloginess, I've been listening to this song over and over again, thanks to a certain episode of House (this flu-cold thing is getting to me, I spent the last 10 minutes of the episode in tears)...

Wednesday 25 September 2013

This is the way to do it.

Sometimes we all just have to be a little bit lazy, and, well, why stand up? Why be like other hamsters, when other hamsters sleep in their own poo? (Well, you do that too. But why add to the list?)

Musicians of Bremen- Donkey.

So I'm working on rewriting and illustrating the Musicians of Bremen for a final year degree project, and only have three weeks to go until the deadline! I'm screaming on the inside (no, really). I am having quite a bit of fun- it always feels like the final year of any any learning program is always the best, probably because it's more free, and that's how I like to be. I've never liked being given restrictions, which is just something that I've had to learn to deal with. Anyway, I'm wittering on, kudos to you if you're still actually reading this!
