It's been a while since I posted an image on my blog- I've had a lot on my mind.
This is sort of an Illustration Friday, sort of a vent. My mother was diagnosed with Superficial Siderosis, and this is kind of a coping illustration. Not really very scientific, but this is how I see my mother's memories- like a rose hidden in thorns. Difficult to get to.
The human body is a very fragile thing, just the slightest imbalance or foreign object can cause it to malfunction, and it's scary.

Recommit to women's liberation
I've redone this idea. I'm also submitting it to Illustration Friday, as I think this fits in well with the theme of 'strong', conceptually, both in the literal and figurative sense. Obviously, there's some strength involved in lifting up a giant heel! Also, with the pressure that women have to live up to (even now) to fulfil stereotypes associated with our sex/ gender.
This was, originally drawn on A2 (even though my poor little scanner is only A3 :-( ). I want to draw bigger!
