The Necropolis

So I took another walk through the Glasgow Necropolis. The weather, on the whole, held up for me, but it did start raining as I started to leave (it's my luck, really). I think that I managed to take some good reference photographs for a short graphic novel that I'm working on, as well as some slightly artsier shots of the Victorian stone masonry that the Necropolis has to offer.

Sewing up my purses

So I've been making up some more purses from my fabric- this one's a foxy one. I still need to work on the speed of my production, as they're taking about 40 minutes to machine sew, and then a further hour or two to sew the frame onto the body (this does make them extra sturdy though, as opposed to using glue). I'm also struggling with actually SELLING the things, although people do say that they like them, so I'm hoping to start shifting some soon. If anyone's interested, I'm selling them here as well as at events that I go to (the next one will be Granny Would Be Proud at the Hillhead bookclub).
Oh, and there's a Prince's Trust event that I'll be going to soon- I HOPE to get some interest from that. Fingers crossed!

I'm making more political cartoons

Fingers crossed that I'm successful!

I'm playing around with some subjects, both current and slightly outdated- but that I feel are relevant, like the issue of gun violence in the US, which still needs to be addressed! I also have some old Scottish election cartoons that I have to compile- I'm plodding along, but I'll get there!

Merchant Square

Just a quick blog (editing all these photos took long enough, and I foolishly had no time for it!) I've just had another weekend at Merchant Square, which is a fantastic venue that could REALLY do with some more footfall (and I think that writing a quick blog about it is going to help?) As well as the market, you also have some fantastic restaurants- I went to Arisaig a few weeks ago for supper with my boyfriend's parents (the soup is AMAZING), and Bar Square (which does awesome chips)- I'm sure that the others are great too. I've emailed these pictures to the marketing department, who I am really really HOPING will post them to their Facebook, as not everyone has Facebook, and it would be great if other people got exposure too, and a more full picture of the market was painted. But ANYWAY, there are all kinds of vendors, I have most of them here, but there are new people almost all the time, so PLEASE pop around and check it out!
